PERMANENT POSITION
AT CONSULTOR INC.
Consultor Inc., an Immigration Firm located downtown Toronto, is looking for a full-time Legal Assistant / Law Clerk with at least 1 year of experience, proficient in the English and Polish languages, and experienced in researching laws of European Union countries.
Reporting to the Immigration Consultant, the Legal Assistant/Law Clerk is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the immigration firm.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 
Review legal documents from Canada and Europe
Research laws and records of European Union countries
Draft legal correspondence in both of the languages
Translate documents from Polish to English, and from English to Polish
Draft emails in response to enquiries by clients (both in English and Polish)
Consistently build and update knowledge of immigration rules and procedures
Complete immigration forms in accordance with CIC's requirements
Collect information from HR contact and applicant, and follow up with applicants and HR contacts to obtain required information/documents
Speak with HR representatives of corporate clients and employees (applicants) to obtain information to assist in drafting applications
Type forms, copy documents, and send out packages
Learn immigration processing categories and requirements for each category
On instruction from the Immigration Consultant, research current processing requirements at service centres/consulates etc.
Using available resources, draft complete application packages for review by the supervising Immigration Consultant
Ensure that applications are filed in a timely manner
Enter expiration dates for applicants' status in tracking system
Notify clients of upcoming extensions
Keep individual client status charts updated (where required)
Communicate with other professional and support staff
Ensure that the Immigration Consultant is at all times advised of client related issues that come to the attention of the legal assistant
QUALIFICATIONS 
College level diploma or a Bachelor's Degree
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Must be well organized, detailed oriented, diligent, and able to critically assess own performance
Able to thrive under pressure
Must be able to prioritize and schedule tasks
Ability to work independently with supervision
Excellent phone manner and customer service skills
Positive, upbeat, self-starting, and can-do attitude
Must have a high sense of responsibility
Well versed in Microsoft Office (esp. Word)
Ability to work with confidential information
Must be familiar with the Polish/ Eastern European culture
WORK EXPERIENCE 
1+ year of experience as a legal assistant/law clerk
LANGUAGES

polskim (obowiązkowa)

FULL TIME
This is a permanent full-time (40 hours/ week) employment.
PAY RATE $25.00- $28.00 per hour
